IFHTSE Medal handed to Prof. Michel Jeandin

Prof. Jeandin was awarded the IFHTSE Medal (Bulletin 2023-02) but was unfortunately unable to be present in Yokohama at the 28th IFHTSE Congress during the award ceremony. Instead, he gave the medalist's lecture on “Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering issues in Thermal Spray” in an innovative video format (Bulletin 2023-03).  So, it was an honour and a pleasure for the members of the governing council of the French Association for Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering (A3TS, member of IFHSTE) to receive at the last council meeting Professor Michel Jeandin in order to hand-deliver the IFHSTE medal to him. The medal was awarded to him in “RECOGNITIONOF HIS LIFE-TIME CONTRIBUTIONS TO MATERIALS SCIENCE AND THE DISSEMINATION OF KNOWLEDGE, ESPECIALLY IN SURFACE MODIFICATION TECHNOLOGIES SUCH AS THE DEVELOPMENT OF COLD SPRAY TECHNOLOGY AND NEXT GENERATION SURFACE COATINGS”. After a summary of his career from the A3TS President Veronique Vitry, Professor Jeandin was once again able to share with with the French colleagues his passion for science and was able to move them with his thanks during this delicious moment (including for the palate) spent together.
